Treat the Foreigner the Same as a Native.

Love him like one of your own. Remember that you were once foreigners in Egypt.

I am God, your God.

What is an Asylum-Seeker?

An asylum-seeker is a person who has left their country and is seeking protection from persecution and serious human rights violations in another country, but who hasn’t yet been legally recognized as a refugee, and is waiting to receive a decision on their asylum claim. Seeking asylum is a human right. This means everyone should be allowed to enter another country to seek asylum.

A Nation of Immigrants

Some of the first immigrants to arrive in what is now the United States, as most us of know, where the English Pilgrims. These immigrants were seeking freedom from religious persecution.

My great, great grandparents were immigrants also seeking religious freedom. They were most likely undocumented, however, not illegal since “illegal immigration” hadn’t been invented yet.

If you’re a US citizen your ancestors were also immigrants, unless you are a Native American or your family was forcefully brought here.

The US Economy Prospers Because of Immigrants

Although immigrants made up just 13.7 percent of the U.S. population in 2017,2 they made up almost 30 percent of all new entrepreneurs in the United States that year.3

Immigrants continue to be nearly twice as likely as native-born people to start businesses.4
